As an international award sponsored by Phadia, now Thermo Fisher Scientific, the objective of PhARF is to encourage advancements in allergy research through the recognition of an outstanding investigator. PhARF also serves as a forum for scientific discussion by arranging symposia and workshops.

The PhARF Award has been presented anually since 1987 to a young scientist who has made outstanding contributions to the field of allergy through creative and independent research efforts. Currently, the award amounts to USD 50,000.
PhARF is based on a Scientific Committee comprised of internationally recognised scientists in the field of allergy. The committee meets once a year to select candidates for the Award as well as those deserving honourable mention.
PhARF cooperates with established scientific organisations in the areas of allergy and immunology and the Award is presented in association with the World Allergy Organisation (WAO) and/or the European Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (EAACI).
